I have found out from development that this is not a matter of simply porting to the Mac platform. There is so much more going on here.
Before FXT is ported to the Mac platform, the improvements scheduled for version 2 must be made. The differences between the way the platforms handle ethernet at various levels is making this necessary. If FXT 1.x was directly ported to the Mac platform, it would not have been a usable product by our standards.
So, the long and the short of it is that what was thought to be a port has turned into a full-blown revison and the accompanying development process. For anyone who has not been involved in the software development process, this entails making a set of changes and testing to see if (a) they work and (b) they don't break something that was working. There were some issues that came up with our existing products that forced us to rev. the 1.x series which slowed things down.
If FX-Max is guilty of anything, it is sharing their plans and hopes with their customers before having a product ready to ship. Many 'new' companies make this mistake in an attempt to let their customers know that they are being listened to and are a part of the process. However, I would much rather be guilty of that then to be guilty of putting a sub-standard product on the market.
As FX-Max grows, this will become streamlined and less painful.
We do appreciate the communication and suggestions from our customers, and we do listen to them. The bottom line is that our development team is going to take the necessary time to 'dot the i's and cross the t's) before releasing a product.
I have promised time and time again that I will release any news as soon as I get it. I will continue to stay in touch with development and keep you informed. _________________ With Regards:

Hi,
Just wanted to let you know there are still folks eager to use this OS X version for cross platform workflows. As a Logic/Pro Tools user who has many PC - only VST(i), i will be buying multiple copies of this for personal and studio work if it can be developed.
Thanks,
g\ |
